The homebrew scene continues to be a wonder as devs continue to do wondrous things with classic systems. Among these new projects is a brand new arcade conversion of the Neo Geo classic Puzzle Bobble for the Commodore 64. This conversion was made by CIED, NM1564 and Hend and attempts to recreate the Neo Geo game as much as possible on the Commodore.
The source code for the project will be released at a later time, for other developers to experiment with or make their own version of. One standout about this homebrew conversion is that the game uses high fidelity sound effects and 4-bit samples for sound, and is bitmap-based, and is able to use as much colour as is necessary for both the background and the playfield.
The best part about this conversion though, is that the devs included not just a two-player mode, but also joystick and paddle support as well.
