Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight takes the amazing Persona 5 cast and throws them into an awesome rhythm game. The cast of characters from Persona 5 are in the spotlight and watching them dance is a sight to be seen. It’s quite cool seeing how differently they dance and how the dances work with their characters.
Dancing in Starlight is an excellent rhythm game and a good continuation of the story of Persona 5. After the events of the main game, the characters find themselves in a strange dream world. While the protagonist has been in the Velvet Room before, his friends have never set foot in this bizarre locale.

However this isn’t the same Velvet Room, this is the Velvet Stage. The Velvet Stage is where the characters must dance to win a contest for Caroline and Justine, the attendants to the Velvet Room. These twins are competing with the other hosts to see which group of Persona characters is the best at dancing. Since it is a dream it can go on forever and when the characters wake up they will forget it ever happened.

It’s interesting to set this game in a world where they won’t remember its events. In fact, this game has the characters interact with and grow closer to each other in its gameplay. The characters talk and promise that they will continue these conversations when they wake up; hoping that they won’t lose this time forever because it’s just a dream.

Persona 5 has an amazing soundtrack and playing the game is a treat because of it. Going through dancing each song isn’t a chore because the music is just that good. It’s also interesting seeing the characters chosen for each song because they link up well with each number.

This game is a great rhythm game and has players pressing buttons in time. It also has players scratching which changes the flow of the song. Just like Persona 4 Dancing All Night this game has fever mode which is gained by scratching enough. These moments pull in another character who dances along with the main dancer. It’s always a fun thing to watch especially once the player has cleared the song. Getting a perfect is no easy feat so if the player can do that they will earn the title of King Crazy!

As players play songs they will unlock social link events with the cast. These events bring the characters closer together and add flavor to the game. They are also fully voiced like the rest of the game and it makes the experience that much more interesting. I was already such a fan of the cast that these little flavor bits make me love the characters even more.

This game also has an interesting mechanic in exploring the character’s rooms. Seeing these rooms takes some game time but it is well worth the wait. It’s great that this game is letting players understand more about the characters and that in and of itself makes it worth playing through.

Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight also has fantastic accessories to equip on the characters. These accessories range from tails to costumes, and even to hair dye. It’s also fun choosing ‘randomly‘ to see what wacky combinations the game thinks up. Gathering all of the accessories does take some time but with all the dancing fun to be had the player will get them in no time.

Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight is an amazing rhythm game and one that does justice to the cast. It lets players see more of these fantastic characters and shows off more of what makes Persona 5 an amazing game. With an amazing soundtrack and tons of dancing to do, pick up this game you’ll never see the fun coming.
