There is a new King of the Kirbys as Nintendo has released its Q2 results for the Fiscal Year 2023, and provided an update on the total sales for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Nintendo’s report has revealed that Kirby and the Forgotten Land has sold 5.27 million units so far.
As such, it has surpassed the previous best-selling game in the series, which was actually the very first game, Kirby’s Dream Land, with 5.13 million copies sold. Breaking a three-decade-old record is impressive and what is more impressive is how fast it did so.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was released in March of 2022 and the date goes up until Sept. 30, meaning the game achieved this feat in 7 months.
There will no doubt be more Kirby games in the future, but now they have a new target to beat.
