We were all excited for the news today that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is being developed by Tribute Games and Dotemu, and it seems we have Limited Run Games to thank.
Dotemu is responsible for remakes such as Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, the upcoming game Windjammers 2, and was the publisher of the fan favourite Streets of Rage 4. Tribute Games has worked on games like Panzer Paladin, and is composed of developers formerly from Ubisoft who worked on games like Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game, and one of the GBA TMNT games,
That last game proved key to the creation of this new project, as Josh Fairhurst from Limited Run Games has revealed. Josh remembered the devs worked on that TMNT game and was the one who suggested to Dotemu that they team with Tribute Games on a new TMNT project.
The result seems to be that Dotemu listened and we now will be getting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
Great article on how Shredder's Revenge came to be. I remember being at lunch with DotEmu at GDC three years ago – I think at John's Grill – when Douglas and I suggested they should team up with Tribute on this. https://t.co/xFUMxqHY8z
