During today’s Mortal Kombat 11 reveal stream we were given more details about the game mechanics and a glimpse of some of the characters that will be in the game. Fan favorites like Baraka are back and look better than ever.
The game will feature three different gauges for offensive, defensive and supers, as Ed Boon explained. There will be a new layer of tactics in the game thanks to this and aa new mechanic called “Fatal Blow”. Fatal Blow is included when your character’s life is down to the last 30% and you can then doa powerful and devastating attack. If you miss said attack, you can use it again after a cooldown period.
Characters confirmed so far are: Scorpion, Raiden, Baraka, Sonia, Sub-Zero and as a very welcome surprise, Skarlet. Our first newcomer is called Geras.
Speaking of Sonia Blade, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey will be voicing character Sonia Blade
Geras is a newcomer for the game, who uses sand and seems to have a connection tot he time travel elements that will be in the story.
And about the game’s story, Raiden has upset the balance of history with the death of Shinnok. Tired of Earthrealm’s defiance, Kronika, The Keeper of Time will bring order to the universe through any means necessary. As such. we will have a story of characters travelling through time and meeting younger versions of themselves. The Fatalities in game will be more brutal and bloody than ever so we expect a wide variety of ways to FINISH our opponents.
