Yasuyuki Oda recently did a new interview with Video Game Chronicle and gave some further details about the new Garou game in the process.

Oda revealed that around ten devs who worked on the original game are returning to work on the sequel and that SNK is reaching out to some of the staff who are working in other companies now about collaborating with the team in some way. That said, Oda did also acknowledge the younger devs who will be part of the team working on the game as well.

Oda also acknowledged the leaked plans for the original Garou 2 which included six planned characters that became public recently. Oda noted some of these leaked concepts and planned characters may appear in the full game, but some things will not.

When it comes to the title of the game, Oda confirmed it will not be called ‘Garou 2’ and will be similar to the original Fatal Fury series. Other details mentioned include that the game’s visuals will use 3D models and a new art style that is different from what SNK has used before. Lastly, while guest fighters are not planned currently, Oda stated he is very open to the idea.

What do you hope to see from the game?
