Nintendo has been mostly tight-lipped about the upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, but new patents filed by the company have provided us with some new details about the gameplay and mechanics in the sequel.
In the patent published under number 20210370175 at WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), there was a showcase of the conditions to use the ability to go through a suspended platform from below to its surface, as seen in the trailer. It will be possible to perform this action freely, and not at a given and pre-established point, as was thought before.
After that, patent US20210370178 also goes into detail about another gameplay mechanic seen in the trailer, namely the “Rewind” function. The patent shows that the object goes back in time in the same way in reverse from its last movement, and is represented by a power gauge.
Finally, patent number US20210370179 shows that Link’s free-falling dive will be much more in-depth than was thought, as Link will be able to take several positions and also to shoot with his bow during it, while also having the possibility of falling backward while diving.
While we wait for more official information, this does give us an idea of what to expect in the game.
