Nightdive Studios has made a name for itself with remasters of classic video games, such as Shadow Man, and its involvement in the Quake Remaster, and there is another company Nightdive wants to work with: Nintendo.  Nightdive CEO, Stephen Kick, stated that there have been talks with Nintendo about classic titles but Nintendo has not been very receptive so far.

“We’ve had discussions with Nintendo over the years about remastering a number of their games and they always get gun shy working with 3rd party developers even after @NightdiveStudio released the first N64 games on *their* platform.”

Stephen Kick has stated one game Nightdive would love to remaster for Nintendo would be the horror game Eternal darkness.

With Nintendo being more open recently to working with third parties, such as Mercury Steam on Metroid and WayForward on Advance Wars, this is still something that could possibly happen one day. It should be noted that Nintendo formed a partnership recently with Forever Entertainment, the developers behind the Panzer Dragoon, House of the Dead and Front Mission remakes. The partnership also involved a service agreement from Nintendo with regards to the Forever Seed Fund, and it remains to be seen what they are working on.
