UPDATE: It turns out that the strips have been present in previous Joy-Con after all, and this is not the official fix we hoped it would be as of now.
Also Nintendo seems to have been doing this for a little while now at least, my yellow Joycon from a couple years ago also has it pic.twitter.com/zmFSfU3gmn

Joy-Con drift is a serious issue that most Switch owners have faced at one point or another, where after extended use, some Joy-Con controllers recognize input when the analogue stick isn’t actually being moved. The issue has plagued Nintendo ever since the Switch was first released, but it seems Nintendo may have finally done something about it with the new Joy-Con set released earlier this month to celebrate The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.
After opening the controllers, Twitter user Mario_RPG_Fan discovered that the joy-cons now included small strips inside that were not in previous iterations of the Joy-Con. Pressure to the back of a Joy-Con control stick is supposedly the means to stop the drift, which could be the purpose for the new strips,
If this is the case, this is a breakthrough for Nintendo, and as such is a reason to keep an eye on these Joy-Cons.
