The Switch is going from strength to strength and has reached another milestone in terms of sales. To give some backstory, Nintendo’s 3DS was a sales success in its own right, though not to the extent of its predecessor the DS. In Japan, handheld gaming is more dominant than console gaming currently, with the 3DS having sold 24.6 million units and still selling a few thousand on a yearly basis even still.
Well, in Japan, the Switch has managed to surpass the 3DS’s sales in the region and has set its sights on the original DS’s 32.8 million units. What is notable here is that the 3DS took over ten years to achieve that number, while the Switch did it in half the time. It seems there is no stopping the Switch now.
