The June 2021 NPD report has revealed some interesting details about games sales, as the Nintendo Switch was the best-selling games platform in the United States for the first half of 2021 for unit sales & total dollar sales. June also saw the Xbox Series take the sport as the best-selling hardware platform in terms of dollar sales, though Nintendo Switch sold more actual units. The PlayStation 5 remains the fastest unit-selling console hardware platform in US history, after 8 months on sale, but this excludes portable systems.
