After its announcement earlier today, Nintendo has now confirmed that Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp will have online play.
The news was revealed during the Treehouse live segment, and where online play for 1-2 players and co-op play options for up to 4 players was mentioned.
No word yet on if map sharing will be included.
