Mortal Kombat 11 is happening, we all know that. We will see returning favourites and new characters, but one thing I enjoyed in the last two games were the guest fighters. I loved seeing horror and scifi icons like Freddy Kreuger, Jason Voorhees and the Predator in the game and want to see more. Obviously there wouldn’t be a ton of them, but there likely will be new guest characters given the series track record. After thinking about it and asking for opinions, I have made a list of 10 potential guests for MK 11

Let’s begin

10) Pumpkinhead

Punpkinhead isn’t as well known as some of the other characters on this list, but would truly be amazing. The monster had a truly memorable look and could play similar to the Xenomorph/Alien, while still keeping unique elements and attributes taken from the Pumkinhead movies.  The movies alone give plenty of potential for how he could attack and kills his enemies in the game.

9) Pinhead

Pinhead is the iconic lead villain from the Hellraiser series. He isn’t known for engaging in physical combat often, but he could easily work as a character that relies on summons and spells similar to how some variations of Quan Chi and Shinnock play. He could call in other Cenobites for assistance and his fatalities would reference the tortures describe in the movies and book.

8) Blade

This one is just wishful thinking as it won’t happen. Blade is a Marvel character owned by Disney and that would make such a guest appearance in MK unlikely. That said, I think it would be neat just to see the daywalker go all out against the best of the MK roster. His sword would be available as well as his other weapons and given how smooth his combat was in the movies, there is a lot that could be done in a fighting game.

7) Michael Myers

The embodiment of evil given human form, Michael Myers was the original movie slasher. It is here that the characters moves start becoming more clear, given just how much material there is to work with. Michael is near immortal in the movies and survive attacks that should kill normal people, only to recover completely. He could play similar to Jason in general, given that much of what was used for Jason also applies to Michael. That said, he could also reference Halloween III in some form, even if the character wasn’t in that one, and could make use of the more bizarre films in the series to highlight how mystical and monstrous he really is.

6) The Toxic Avenger

Toxic Avenger is one of the greatest low budget movies ever made. The character fought off crooks in a bloody way and it was hilarious all the while.  This is a long shot entry, but I love the character and could think of several move sets for him, that both use weapons like his mop or just go bare fisted. Everything about Toxie is over the top and given the nature of Troma movies, he would fit right in ( moreso than Leatherface did), and his fatalities could definitely play up the humor of the character

5) The Terminator

Arnold’s most iconic character would also be a great fit for Mortal Kombat. He is a relentless killing machine, but actually would have a neat moveset. The terminator was programmed with knowledge of combat and human anatomy, so the developers could just go all out having fun with that for one variation while another makes use of his weaponry. He could also just appear in his true robotic appearance for another variation that would play well alongside the cyborg ninjas.

4) Robocop

If Terminator is in this, then Robocop would have to follow him. Another 80’s scifi icon, Robocop would be neat since he would have to be a slow moving character dealing high damage. He would have his gun of course, but Robocop has a lot of other weapons people forget, such as his ordinance grenades, Cobra Assault Rifle and even his jetpack. The last one wasn’t used well in the movies, but it can be awesome as seen in comics and some video games. There is a lot that can be done here.

3) Pennywise

The clown is having a current run of popularity again due to the success of the film adaptations of IT, but that’s not the only reason he would be a great addition. Pennywise could be Mortal Kombat’s version of the Joker, but instead of being a dangerous murderer, he is a cosmic horror. His moves could of course references the forms IT takes in the book and movies, but the devs could also have some fun here. IT is supposed to be a shapeshifting abomination that embodies fear, so why not just go all at and have him do some crazy moves that play up his otherworldly nature.

2)  Spawn

This one I can see happening the most, because McFarlane has given permission to use the character in Mortal Kombat before. Spawn has been in a fighting game before, but that didn’t show off the character as he truly is,. Spawn has some truly interesting powers that the dev team could adapt well for a fighting game and actually have Spawn really be Spawn this time. His powers from the comics, combat background and use of weapons would give him three very distinct variations that all would play very differently.

and 1)

Ash Williams

Ash, the protagonist of the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness  would be an amazing addition to the roster. Already coming  from a series well known for  gory content and having canonically travelled through time via the Necronomicon ( something else tat would fit into MK), there is a perfect way to explain him being in the game. Ash could have a very diverse moveset that makes use of his chainsaw arm and sawed off shotgun, which would allow him to be used in a variety of playstyles. For Instance, , Ash could be played from a distance and rely on the boomstick,  or use the chainsaw up close for another variation or even use mechanical hand, for hand to hand combat. It would also be great if Bruce Campbell returned to voice him with his usual wit, since the exchanges with the other characters would be hilarious.

But these are just whom I think would be good. Let me know what characters you would like to see as guests.
