After this morning’s announcement of Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition coming to Switch , Microsoft has revealed new details about this version. Microsoft has confirmed that the game runs at 1080p/60fps when docked.
Since the launch of Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition in 2016 for Xbox and PC, we’ve been stunned by the continuous love and support from media, our game development peers, and of course, our fans. We’re thrilled to bring the game to even more players as we announce that Xbox Game Studios and Moon Studios teamed up to bring Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition to Nintendo Switch, available starting on September 27, 2019 on the Nintendo eShop.Winner of several prestigious awards, Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is a unique action platformer that combines deep Metroidvania style gameplay with emotional storytelling. The game tells the story of Ori who is on a quest of self-identity, sacrifice and perseverance, all while solving the mysteries of a dying forest and escaping the clutches of Kuro, the dark owl.
The same Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition experience that Xbox and PC players know and love will be coming to Nintendo Switch, bringing with it the same stunningly beautiful graphics running at 1080p and 60fps, plus all of the same great features from the original release, including new areas to explore, two additional abilities, more story sequences, multiple difficulty modes, fast travel between areas and much more. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition was a great success for us on Xbox and PC and we are excited to bring the same experience to Nintendo Switch.
Whether you are discovering Naru’s past for the first time on Switch or revisiting the world of Nibel on Xbox or PC, we’re thrilled to have you in the Ori community. Thank you all again for your continuous support, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
