At the Tokyo press conference for Sony Playstation, the Japanese market was saddened to hear that the Playstation 4 won’t be released in Japan until next year on February 22, 2014.

At first glance, this seems to be an odd and bad choice to release the PS4 in it’s native land months after North America and Europe. However, the reason for this choice does make sense. They want more games available at launch. Yes, Sony wants to give time to let the western big titles release and to be regionalized so that many games will be available at launch for the Japanese market. It makes sense but you can’t blame anyone for not being happy to wait months longer. Sony has announced that “First Limited Pack” will be available at launch bundled with a free download code for Knack.
Playstation 4 will launch at 39,980 Yen ($401) standard or for 43,980 Yen ($441) with the PlayStation 4’s camera.
