A brand new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been released, featuring new gameplay and details. The trailer is titled “Jump into a Paldean Journey” and is just over 14 minutes long.
The trailer revealed another new Pokemon called Farigiraf.
Farigiraf is a Long Neck Pokemon with a Normal / Psychic type. As for its ability, that’s Cud Chew / Armor Tail. It measures 10’6? (3.2 m) with a weight of 160 kg.
“As a result of its Evolution, the head of its main body and the head from its tail have become one. Both of Farigiraf’s brains are connected through thick nerves, increasing its psychic energy, and it can emit psychic waves from the antennae on its head. Farigiraf is always mindful of its surroundings, and while it can detect danger in an instant, there are times when its body cannot react as fast as its two brains can think.”
In addition, Cud Chew is a new ability being introduced for these games. After a Pokemon with Cud Chew eats a Berry, it will eat it one more time at the end of the next turn. Another new ability is Armor Tail, which makes opposing Pokemon unable to use priority moves.
The trailer also detailed picnics and the TM Machine, which are two new mechanics for the game. Picnics, can be had “almost anywhere when out exploring the region’s vast wildernesses, along with being able to change the designs of the tablecloth, cups, water bottles, and other picnic items to create an arrangement of their liking.” A Pokemon’s HP will be restored when it eats sandwiches, and “the meal may impart some effects that will come in handy on adventures”.
Before having a picnic, you will be able to choose your preferred fillings and condiments and a sandwich pick that’ll help hold it all together. You will then need to arrange the ingredients on the bread, stacking them careful, because there’s a chance that the ingredients could topple over or fall off the bread entirely if not balanced properly. In addition, Picnics can be enjoyed with friends while playing together through the Union Circle.
With regards to the TM Machine in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. The games have a piece of equipment at every Pokemon Center, allowing players to make their own TMs. These TMs can be created using League Point and materials dropped by wild Pokemon after battle. You can also earn LP throughout the game or by trading in materials from Pokemon. There will be more TMs e available to players as they progress. Although a single TM can only be used once, with enough LP and the right materials from Pokemon, they can make as many as they’d like.
Another feature shown was the profile app
The profile app is where you can see what you’ve achieved during your adventures, such as how many badges you’ve gathered, how far along you are with completing the Pokedex, and even the number of sandwich recipes you’ve discovered!
It also shows the Pokemon you’re currently traveling with, and you can set a profile picture using just the right combination of outfits, hairstyles, poses, and filters as well! Try making a profile that’s uniquely “you”!?

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the first fully open-world Pokémon games, will launch for Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18th, 2022.
