Forrest of Illusion has announced they have managed to preserve a cancelled Quake port for the Game Boy Advance. The porting was being done by Randall Linden, a veteran game developer famous for the creation of the BLEEM emulator as well as the SNES version of Doom.

The demo was found on a 256M Flash Card and is noted for how visually impressive the demo is for the hardware, with Forrest of Illusion stating that its capabilities managed to outshine almost every other 3D game on the GBA. When the GBA’s popularity began to fade, the prototype was repurposed into a game called Cyboid, designed as a small fast-paced game that would keep players coming back.

Randy contacted Forrest of Illusion so the prototype could be preserved and the ROM dump can be found
