Shakedown Hawaii isn’t finished quite yet but that’s okay because VBlank is bringing their earlier game, Retro City Rampage to the Switch as well.

SURPRISE! ‘Retro City Rampage DX’ is coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop! This marks the award winning send-up’s 14th(?!) platform to officially launch (I think?!).
Although ‘Shakedown: Hawaii’ is still on the way, it’s not quite finished yet. In the meantime, you can get your Nintendo Switch open world fix, with Retro City Rampage DX!
Like each port before it, it contains little tweaks that polish the game even further (I just can’t help myself!). From little things like the slightly more stylish score display, to improved enemy stomp and swimming controls, to improved lock-on targeting, and mission difficulty tweaks. If you couldn’t beat Death Cam VHS before, you’ll have a leg up on Switch!
As for Shakedown’s release, don’t worry! This surprise port hasn’t lead to any sort of delays with that. If anything, this’ll ensure that once ready, Shakedown gets through Nintendo Switch certification quickly, since our road’s been paved by RCR:DX.
The release date for RCR:DX on Switch is still being locked down. We’re aiming for next week, but if it doesn’t quite make that, hopefully it’ll land the week after.

Retro City Rampage is a truly awesome game and if you have not played it yet, you really should. What began as a GTA Demake, ended up becoming a love letter to classic games.
