Say No! More is a brand new game that’s out now on Nintendo Switch and Steam. This game is a pretty quick adventure, but it’s easy to replay. Players take control of an intern who starts working a new job. The only thing is the company wants them to say is yes. When the intern can’t even speak at all, it is instantly hard for them to do much of anything.

Even though the protagonist can’t speak, they soon find a special tape. This tape is special; because it gives them the power to say no. Now: it might seem odd for a cassette tape to give someone power, but by simply listening to it, they are mentally transported to a strange realm. The creator of the tape is so fervent in his ability to say no, that his energy has been sealed in the tape. He tells the player how to say no, and the game gets going. This intern has always been doing what they have to get by. Getting walked on, and even their roommate doesn’t seem to respect them. With the special tape, this character changes the company and helps change their life for the better.

The strange man in the tape teaches the protagonist how to use four no’s to attack their foes. The first no is a Hot No, a fiery no that is standard. There are a few other no’s to use, but a little surprise is always good. The player clicks the mouse or presses a button to unleash a no. They can also charge up the no to deal more damage. The amount of damage the player can cause becomes pretty massive as the game progresses.

There are stronger characters to face as the game progresses. Players must leverage the power of No along with the power to startle their opponent. By simply laughing at an opponent, the player will unseat their confidence. They can do a few other actions, but they all act in similar ways. These abilities aren’t generally used this way, so derisively, but they do work wonders. The combat is pretty fun, but it does seem to weaken over time. In the first instance of charged no’s it seems like players will use them a lot. But, later on, characters besides; bosses can be knocked out with a simple no. Even the gestures don’t seem to be so important, as in the latter half of the game I was taking out the character’s left and right with just the basic no and no laughing for instance.

One great thing about this game is that players get to create their character. The character’s all look mildly weird, but it is a 90’s style action game. Players get to choose what they look like and jump in, meaning the player can always choose a different character to play through the game as. With the game being only about two hours, this is a nice touch. The character creator tool has a variety of different styles to choose from and even has sixteen premade characters, so players can jump in without making a new character if they want.

Say No! More is a great game, no matter what you play it on. The player will use either a mouse-click or a button press to take down the forces of Yes and save the day. This game can be played by anyone, but it is clearly for someone who can’t say no. There is just something magical about this game, I felt like even I was better equipped to say no more after playing it. While it might be a short game, the story is poignant. The characters are interesting, and the dialogue is well written. Plus, the game has voice acting, which always makes things better, in my opinion. I did enjoy my time playing through this weird adventure, helping my character say no, and change the world a little bit too. I was a little surprised by how wild the game was; it’s not grounded too deeply; in reality.

Say No! More is available now and is quite the quirky adventure. Players will have a great time unleashing the power of No on the forces of evil. They will see a workplace transform and watch their weird quiet hero learn to say no sometimes. At the end of the day, No is a good thing to say, so long as people only use it sparingly. So, if someone asks you to do something you don’t feel good about doing, unleash a no! Say No! More is pretty fun, and just about anyone will have a good time playing it, so go on, Say No! More.
