SEGA has established a new software development and debugging studio in Sapporo, which will be called SEGA Sapporo Studio. The studio was established on December 1, 2021, as SEGA’s second development base in Japan. The studio was founded in order to secure a high-quality and stable development line as a direct reaction to the global expansion of the video games market and studio staff will design, program, and debug game software.

The studio will be led by president and CEO Takaya Segawa, who joined SEGA in 1992 and who worked on numerous titles including the Yakyuu Tsuku!! and Saka Tsuku series, and as the chief producer of Phantasy Star Online 2.  Segawa was appointed a senior corporate officer of SEGA in April of 2021.

The SEGA Sapporo Studio official website can be seen here.
