Skyrim’s creation club has updated once more, and with it comes 4 new paid creations. Listed below are the creations ranked from worst to best in my opinion. So lets take a look

 

Arms of Chaos 500 credits, staves and apparel

500 credits gets you the Arms of Chaos creation. It gives you the arm of the sun and the arm of the moon, two unique staves as well as an amulet and new ring along with a minor quest. The quest itself is nothing special as is often with Creation Club mods, but something does stick out and not in a good way.  This creation establishes that the Arms of chaos were created by a descendant of the maker of the Staff of Chaos, the artifact from Elder Scrolls Arena, as an attempt to recreate its power. The staff of chaos was an immensely powerful artifact in that game ( being the key item you had to get), and as such, this creation feels like an insult to the lore almost.  The staves are nothing special at all, and many staves in the base game are much better. This doesn’t do that relic justice at all, reels like a letdown and honestly so does this creation. This doesn’t give the feeling of immense power the Staff of Chaos should have and 5 dollars is way too much for underpowered items that don’t seem to reflect the lore right and in fact conflicts with it. Not to mention bringing a quest that once again, is nothing special, so I would definitely pass on this.

 

Shadowfront Sanctum 400 credits- Player home

Elianora has brought a new playerhome with Shadowfront Sanctum. This is a home located in the ratway in Riften and is meant for a thief playthrough. It is a very nice home and a lot of work was put in, but for 4 dollars, it just feels like too much money. For those who do a lot of immersive roleplaying as a thief, this might prove interesting, but its not enough for everyone else. There are many great free home mods, so this just feels like its not a good deal. Its very creative, I will give it that, and it has a very unique feel, but for casual players not into player homes, this is a skip.

 

 

 

 

Umbra – 500 credits – weapon

 

 

The daedric weapon Umbra returns in this new creation. This is the largest creation of the bunch, but that is more due to the quest to get Umbra. The quest sees you go through a massive dungeon called Champion’s Rest. The quest is actually very good albeit this is by creation club standards. The dungeon has some unique environments and there are journals you can find that will give more insight into and expand on the lore about Umbra. That said, the experience is not a long one and Umbra itself does not particularly stand out all that much, even if it is a bit powerful and has some nice enchantments. On its own, don’t buy it, but if put in a creation bundle at a decent price, this might be worth it at a discount.

Spell Knight Armor – 400 credits- Apparel

This one is the standout of the additions, but that isn’t saying much when you consider the competition. Spell Knight Armor adds three new sets of armor, 1 iron, 1 steel and 1 ebony, and the creation gives a quest to get the armors. In contrast to the above mentioned Arms of chaos, I really like the lore possibilities added here. The quest is not too long, but is rather enjoyable and I rather like the armor here. 400 credits is a bit much I must say, even with a neat bit of lore that discusses a new faction that would be worth exploring in a game set in High Rock. As with Umbra, I would wait for a creation bundle for this one, but it will be worth it once it is bundled. If bundled with the aforementioned Umbra, then that bundle will be very much worth getting.

So there you go. Not the amazing content like we had with Forgotten Seasons last time, but not the terrible content the service launched with. This is middle of the road content, and bundles may make some of it worth getting.
