Marvel’s The Avengers was hyped as a major release for this year and poised to be important for Square Enix, who spent $100 million developing the game.
However, the game only sold around 3 million copies, and Square Enix has now lost 6.5 billion yen largely due to the game’s failure.
Sometimes heroes do not fly.
