Takaya Imamura. the original artist behind Star Fox and F-Zero is creating a new game as an independent developer, based on his debut manga Omega 6. Omega 6 is currently only available to buy in French for the current time, but it seems to have gained attention.
The video game adaptation will be a simple text adventure game, however, there will be some battle scenes that players can control. The game will feature an original story based on the manga and is being developed by the studio Happy Meal and will release on Nintendo Switch in 2023. The manga follows the characters Thunder and Kaira, who are bounty hunters who travel through space in search of a new planet to replace Earth.
At Nintendo, Imamura is credited as the designer of the Starfox characters Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi and more, as well as Captain Falcon from F-Zero and the cast of Majora’s Mask, such as Tingle. He was said to have based his characters on Nintendo employees, such as Fox on Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Falco based on artist Tsuyoshi Watanabe and Tingle on legendary composer Koji Kondo. His last title for Nintendo was 2016’s Star Fox Zero, in collaboration with PlatinumGames.
