Square Enix has jumped on the bandwagon of encouraging people to stay at home, notably offering a free face mask with every $100 spent on their store yesterday.  However, in addition to that particularly strange offer, the creators of Dragon Quest have also offered something rather neat in Japan for their fanbase.  On the official Japanese Dragon Quest Website under their new Stay At Home section, Square Enix has also offered a variety of free coloring pages for you to download in convenient PDF format!  There are easy, moderate, and difficult pages, and they’re absolutely fantastic!  Here are samples of some of the images (which I MAY have already printed off and started on!):

This might take me a while…

This one is great for kids!

There are a wide variety of images available in the two main PDFs, found at the following direct links:

Dragon Quest Coloring Pages for kids!

Dragon Quest Coloring Pages for teens and adults!

In addition to all these great coloring pages, Square Enix and the Dragon Quest team thought it would be great to give some tutorials on how to draw slimes and heal slimes!   The art tutorial with guides and blank spaces to draw your characters can be found at this direct link:

Dragon Quest Character Drawing Guide

But that’s not all!  There’s more, including a spot the difference image (available in color) and if you have a color printer, it’s a tough one!   Very cool imagery, available here:

Dragon Quest – Spot The Difference Image

Finally, not to be missed is the wealth of Dragon Quest original art and backgrounds available in HD for screensavers and making your own art!   Take a look!

The cover for the original Famicom version of Dragon Quest 1 in glorious HD!

The original battle background for Dragon Quest 1’s first area!

These and much more are available at the following link:  Dragon Quest Virtual Backgrounds.  Square Enix even had the Android versions of the games on sale last week, but sadly, that sale has ended now.  I may have snagged a couple for myself as they play pretty well on a modern tablet, surprisingly!

How can you not still love it???

For those of you that are interested, the first two Dragon Quest games on Android are quite cheap and available at the following links:

Dragon Quest I – Android – $1.99

Dragon Quest II – Android – $4.99

These are the same as the Switch ports of the games, and Dragon Quest 1-6 and 8 are available at various prices.  The games are entirely touch contextual and easily playable on a smartphone or tablet.  They’re excellent conversions, even if the translations are a bit odd!

Hopefully, this is enough free and cheap Dragon Quest content to brighten anyone’s day!  Don’t forget to use the links provided above to get these PDFs while they’re available and if you don’t have it, you’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader (which is also free) to print them off.  All you need is a printer or access to one to start having fun today!   Stay home, stay safe, and show us your Dragon Quest love!
