MAGES, the developer behind the STEINS;GATE series has entered into a rough period. The company has had a string of losses financially over the last little while and things have gotten very bad. MAGES has now entered insolvency, the state where a company can no longer meet their financial obligations to lenders when debts become due.
MAGES was acquired by Colopl around 2020, and things have gone badly since then financially for the company. While neither Colopl or MAGES have commented publicly on the insolvency, we will likely get an official statement soon.
While nothing is happening yet, now may be the time to check out games from MAGES in case one catches your eye and something changes in the status of the games soon.
