After its disastrous launch, and sales far lower than what Capcom had been anticipating, Street Fighter V has had a hard time. There may be a silver lining here however, as the game has been approved for release in Mainland China.

This could be a big new market and considering how online competitive games are a major business there, this could actually help Capcom turn around Street Fighter V’s fortunes. If done right, this could end up ensuring a season 3 and even more fighting games from Capcom, should the audience bite. I hope the esports scene in China embraces the game and makes it a success. We need more fighting games and one horrible launch shouldn’t destroy all of the Street Fighter series.
