Super Mario 3D All-Stars had a massive launch in the United States, coming second in sales only to Marvel’s The Avengers.
The game was so successful that the launch month physical dollar sales for Super Mario 3D All-Stars is now the sixth biggest for a Nintendo-published title in U.S. history, and the game generated the second-highest launch month physical dollar sales of any 2020 release with only Animal Crossing: New Horizons was bigger ahead.
In addition, the game launched in mid-September, so the numbers are even more impressive as they do not cover a full month.
