The microphone itself is very clear and, unlike the PlayStation Silver, does not have a microphone sticking out.

The Gold has a 7.1 virtual surround sound, and it does sound pretty decent. A true audio connoisseur will probably not like it, but the average gamer will no doubt enjoy the sound quality for the price.

The best part about the PlayStation Gold is its versatility because there are many more uses for it than just gaming. It’s great for watching Netflix while a spouse of significant other is asleep.
