Olli Olli is actually a game that is true to skateboarding and isn’t for the faint of heart. Players will smash their faces into the ground time and time again all for the chance at the perfect run.
Olli Olli is the first game players will likely play. The game doesn’t throw the player to the wolves as it offers a comprehensive tutorial. Mastering the tutorial is the way to master this game. There are quite a few tricks and measures the player will need to undertake. Every action needs to be done precisely as one wrong move will cause the player to crash.
Players will play through multiple levels trying to grind out the best score. Each level offers replayability as there are challenges to undertake. There is even a leaderboard as the game is linked to the internet. This can make the game even more intense because right off the bat the player is up against the world.
These challenges can often be rather hard, but as long the player completes the run they will move on to the next level. It is up to the player whether or not they complete all the goals. As long as they have fun doing it, what does it matter anyway? The game gets harder too as the second set of levels in every world are pro levels.
The player even has the chance to participate in daily grinds. This changes every day, and players are only given one run and they’re done for the day. It is important the player only does this when they are sure they are ready. Don’t just jump into this willy nilly as the player’s terrible score will be up there for all to see.
Olli Olli 2 Welcome to Ollywood is really more of the same in a new locale. This game once again starts off with an unskippable tutorial. Players will learn how to play the game again and then be thrust into a new campaign. This campaign is far more exciting than the last one.
Each world in this game is given a movie title after the player plays through Hollywood. Clearly, when the creators finished the first game they knew they wanted to go above and beyond in the sequel. It is fantastic that they went with their guns and went as crazy as possible. This game definitely outspeeds its predecessor and is by far more entertaining.
Players will once again have the opportunity to do the daily grind. They will also again have access to spots which is really all about getting the best score. Never attempt these unless the player is sure they are up for the challenge. Though the chance to rise up the leaderboards is sure to bring players back day after day. Plus the daily grind is also different
This bundle does have some drawbacks. The online shouldn’t be forced on the player. Honestly, I am not that competitive so being forced to see my ranking is discouraging. The game constantly seems to want players to compete with those playing the game. When I’m playing I’m honestly just trying to get by, and I’d rather not see that someone else is winning so easily. The fact that players also need to restart the game to switch between the two is only slightly annoying.
All in all, Olli Olli Switch Stance is a solid bundle. If players are fans of skateboarding games they are sure to find these games to be fun. While they can be intense it is cool to see scores rise as the player learns how to play the game. With constant competition, those who enjoy it are sure to find hours of enjoyment. There’s a wide world to skate, will the player skate or crash and burn?
