Here is some news we did not expect. A new 4X game was just announced, set in the Warhammer 40K universe, with Warhammer 40K: Gladius – Relics of War .
The game will put four factions, Space Marines, Orks, Imperial Guard and Necrons against each other for control of Gladius Prime via a 4X battle. The factions will each have their own storylines, tech trees, units and heroes. They will all need to expand, conquer and interact with enemies and allies differently, giving this game a lot of potential replay value.
There is no set release date just yet, other than that it is coming soon. It should be noted that this is from the development team that made Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, a game that has received good reviews on Steam, which is a good sign for this game.
