Wario Land-inspired platformer Antonblast Now on Kickstarter

ByJonathan Balofsky

May 17, 2022

Antonball was a well-received indie game for Switch and PC, and a sequel of sorts in the works that has a rather interesting touch to it. Antonblast is a pseudo sequel that takes influences from Game Boy Advance classics like  Wario Land 4 and Metroid Dread, in addition to games like Sonic CD, Cuphead, and Shovel Knight. Summitsphere is looking for $75,000 on Kickstarter to fund the project fully.

– Nine unique sprawling worlds with tons to explore!
– Destructive action and explosive escapes!
– Dynamic play style — rush to the end or explore at your own pace!
– Silky-smooth platforming gameplay with best-in-class controls!
– Breathtaking hand-drawn animation à la Earthworm Jim and Cuphead!
– Brutal earthshaking bosses!
– A groovy retro-flavored dynamic soundtrack!
– Loads of replay value: Hard Mode, Boss Rush, and more!

Summitsphere is targeting a 2023 release for Antonblast should the Kickstarter meet its goal. The game is planned for Nintendo Switch and Steam and stretch goals are in place for a release on PlayStation and Xbox.
