The Playstation 5 Reveal Event just ended and boy was it a doozy. The Playstation 5 is aiming to be the Future of Gaming and I’m hyped to see what will be coming out. They revealed quite a few games coming to the system and it was quite a smorgasbord. The event opened up with a plethora of games from the PS4. This was fantastic as it showed off what made the last generation great. It was such an awesome generation and it was nice to lead off with such a bunch of footage.

They then talked about Grand Theft Auto V coming to Playstation 5. This game might have come out in 2014 and is coming to PS5 enhanced and with new features. While it might be an older game it is nice to see it come back while we wait still for Grand Theft Auto 6. Players will also receive a million gold weekly before game launches on PS5. It was also confirmed that players will get free online in 2021.

Spiderman Miles Morales is coming out this Holiday and looks to be a fresh take on the recent Spiderman game. Miles will play similarly to Peter but has his skills which will change the game. It was a great way to start the event and I’m pleased that it started so strong. They then delved into Gran Turismo 7 which looks to be highly polished as usual. The game plays amazingly and looks better than ever. It looks to be as realistic as the previous iterations and will surely take the extra power of the PS5 to make it the best Gran Turismo yet.

Ratchet and Clank are back in Rift Apart, after around five years. This game splits our two heroes up and sends them to different worlds. Ratchet can pull other dimensions to him to reach new areas. It looks to be a fantastic new entry and should please fans of the series. Project Athia was shown off and while it looks amazing not much is known. Stray is another new game where the player plays as a cat in a robot filled world. Both of these games had great trailers but not much else is known currently.

Returnal is a space adventure game about a planet that constantly changes. The main character crashlands onto the planet and is forced to come back over and over to the planet changing. She might lose her mind before she gets to escape, so it’s a good thing she has a gun to blast away the baddies. Sackboy is back in Sackboy: A Big Adventure. This game is a return to form for Media Molecule and brings us back to the world of Little Big Planet. I’ve been a fan for ages so I’m excited to see a brand new game. Sackboy has all the charm he’s ever had so it will be nice seeing him run around again.

Destruction Allstars was next and seems to be a new Fortnite style game. A game that the youth of the world will certainly enjoy. It has wild characters and zany destructive battle energy. It should be a lot of fun to play with friends. With platforming, combat, and tricks this will be a blast. Kena Bridge of Spirits followed and seems to be an action platformer. Players take control of Kena and help her explore a world with small black furry creatures. She has to take down enemies and change the world. It should be a nice adventure for any who chooses to pick it up.

Goodbye Volcano High was next and appears to tell the story of a world before a meteor hits. The characters are human styled dinosaurs and seem to be enjoying the final year of school. There’s sure to be romance, trouble, and chaos when things don’t go everyone’s way. Goodbye Volcano High comes out 2021. It’s been a while since we got an Oddworld game and Oddworld Soulstorm is going to rectify that. This game is a return to form for the strategy series. It’s a humorous, compelling game that will test players as they die over and over again. Ghostwire Tokyo might have been revealed at E3 last year but it’s still around. This is a fantastic Japanese horror game based in Tokyo. The mythos of Japan is rife with terrifying monsters and should be a horrific playground to explore. Players take down ghosts and ghouls using chants and spells as they run to save Tokyo.

Jett the Far Shore was also just given a short trailer. While it looks great and has a bunch of planets to explore not much is known. Though as a narrative-driven game it is sure to be quite interesting. While cinematic trailers are great it will be cool to learn more about this in the future. Godfall was the first game to be revealed for PS5 and looks to be quite a doozy. Players must travel through a fantasy world as they loot and slash their way to glory. We still don’t know much about it but I’m excited to learn more.

Solar Ash is a game with another nice cinematic trailer. A game where the player travels through space, though not much else is known. Hitman III is also coming in the future and seems to tell of the Hitman’s final mission. With new ways to kill foes and higher heights to explore this is sure to be his deadliest mission yet, as the trailer says, “Death Awaits.” Astro’s game room looks to be a nice sequel to Astro’s VR venture. With hang gliding, tricks, and bosses to face he’s in for a journey. NBA 2K21 showed off Zion Williamson of the New York Pelicans but little else. It looks like a fantastic new entry where games are getting closer to real-life every moment.

Demon’s Souls is finally getting a remake and looks stellar. A true legendary game that predates Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Looking darker and more challenging than ever, this game will shake things up when it launches on PS5.

Deathloop was announced with Ghostwire Tokyo and looks like an amazing shooter. Players control two different assassins stuck in a time-loop. They can’t for the life of them get out and have to take each other on. Slowly but surely take down the eight marks and learn more about the world with every death. Resident Evil VIII Village was also teased and brings back Chris Redfield. A terrifying village to explore with monsters and zombies just itching to take out the main character. While Redfield might be a villain this game is looking like it will be one of the most terrifying yet. Pragmata was then shown off and seems to tell the story of an astronaut returning to Earth. The world is desolate save for a young girl and a cat. The trailer was super cryptic but this still looks to be an interesting ride. I’m curious what the story is for this one.

The final game reveal was Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West. This game is a direct sequel to the fantastic Horizon Zero Dawn. It aims to continue the story and shows off quite a few new mechanical foes for Aloy to take on. It will show off farther reaches of the world that she has yet to see which is exciting

They showed off the system finally at the end, and it is quite different. The sleek curves and the different colors make it pop. This system will have both a version with a disk drive and a digital version. It’s up to the player which one they pick up but we still sadly don’t know the price for this console.

The Playstation 5 is going to be pretty great if this event was anything to go off of. I do enjoy the system and like that its different than most of the other systems. Welcome to Playstation 5 is a great line to wrap this presentation up and I’m excited for the future of gaming.
