World of Tanks Blitz officially launched for Switch today after being announced during the Partner Showcase. In an interview with Vooks, Natallia Pershyts, the World of Tanks Blitz Publishing Product Director, revealed some interesting details about the port.
…we handled the port internally. It was 100% developed in-house, but Nintendo were there to help when we had questions along the way.
It took us nearly a year and up to 30 members of our team to get the Nintendo Switch version ready. And it was the deep understanding that our engineers had for the game that allowed us to quickly modify the code to fit the existing tech requirements of the Nintendo Switch platform. As for the game’s performance on Nintendo Switch, there will be no difference gameplay-wise. As one of the first fully cross-platform titles on Nintendo’s platform it enables matchmaking between PC, mobile and Nintendo Switch which prevents long waiting times.
The game also has touchscreen controls in handheld mode as an option , as well as gyro-aiming. Gyro-aiming is also available with the Switch Pro Controller as well.
