After Sony announced the Playstation 4 launch date, many wondered how Microsoft would respond. Would it release a week before the PS4? 2 weeks before? Many believed that Microsoft would take an advantage and release their console before the PS4, well that seems to be a half-truth. Microsoft announced the Xbox One would launch in America, Canada, and 11 other countries on November 22, one week after the PS4 launch in America but a week before the PS4 launch in Europe.
A surprising move by Microsoft to not take advantage of prior knowledge of Sony’s release date and launch before it here an America. However one week will not make a huge difference if any at all. And with many preorders for both systems sold out in many places, I think the date will play little into how many units are sold. November marks the beginning of the new generation of video games.
