The Xbox Series X is coming this year, and Xbox wanted to share with fans, some new games coming to this system. While a release date and price would have been lovely, the games do matter most. There were eighteen different games shown off during this event, though not everyone was so thrilled by the presentation. It just goes to show that no matter how much work goes into a show, not everyone will be happy with the result.
The first game they showed off was Halo Infinite. This game got eight minutes to show off the open world and the campaign. It has been a while since we got a new Halo game, so this will surely make fans happy. The studio behind it, 343 Industries, said; it will play at flawless 60fps when it launches this Holiday Season.
Avowed, which is the newest Obsidian game is also coming soon. It’s a first-person fantasy-themed RPG and looked to be great. It will be nice to travel into a new, fantasy world, while we wait for Elder Scrolls 6.
Playground Games is making a new Fable game. Fable is one that many speculated will come out, so it’s not a surprise. But the game looks amazing. It has been years since Fable 3, so this one is a game many fans have been looking forward too.
Forza Motorsport is also coming out soon and looks to be one of the best entries in the series. It will run at a smooth 60fps and in 4K. Plus, it will also have ray tracing: so the game will look better than any other in the series.
Tetris Effect: Connected will also be arriving this holiday season. This game adds new local and multiplayer co-op and competitive modes. It builds on the original and makes it even cooler. Should scratch the Tetris itch and be fun for any who loves the series.
Destiny 2 is coming to Game Pass in September! Plus they are bringing the older DLC to game pass as well. Beyond Light, the newest expansion will arrive on Gamepass on November 10th.
Balan Wonderland is coming out and it’s by Yuji Naka, the former head of the Sonic Team. It is a wonderful and magical looking game. Players will travel the world using eighty different costumes. This game has clear Sonic and Knights vibes, so fans of those series should be excited.
Everwild is Rare’s newest game and looks beautiful. The world the players explore is vibrant and magical While they didn’t pull out Banjo and Kazooie, its nice to see Rare, making magical games.
Outerworlds is getting two new DLC expansions, and the first is Perils on Gorgon. This expansion is noir themed, meaning it will be a Detective story. The DLC takes place in the world and on a new planet. Meant to be played near the end of the main game before beating the final boss, it will allow any to take it on. Perils of Gorgon launches September 9th.
Tell Me Why is the new game from the Life is Strange creators. Twins must navigate their childhood memories and figure things out. The first part will launch on August 27th.
Psychonauts 2 is coming in 2021 and looks as weird as the first game. Raz is back and better than ever to save the world using his psychic powers. Psychonauts 2 will surely be a hit like the first game.
CrossfireX is coming to Xbox Series X this year. This game is a collaboration between Smilegate and the developers of Control. It’s an upgrade to the hit FPS game Crossfire.
Dragon Quest is finally coming to the Xbox. This game will be the full version of Dragon Quest XI. A game from an illustrious series finally finds it’s way onto an Xbox console. This will surely be a big hit, as the series has always been a beloved one.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is also coming to the new console in a riveting new sequel to a spooky first-person shooter and survival horror game. It will be joined by The Gunk, a new third-person action-adventure game by the creators of the Steamworld Series. The player will be tasked will exploring a gunk filled planet, and looks interesting.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is the next entry in the Phantasy Star 2 universe. Players will enjoy this new entry that adds onto the lore of the past games and looks amazing.
The Medium is also coming from Bloober Team. This game is all about Marianne exploring both the physical and spiritual realms. Both realms can be explored simultaneously and should be quite a frightening game.
Sable is a new open-world action game from Raw Fury and Indie Developer Shedworks. This one will launch in 2021 and should be a solid game.
As Dusk Falls, is also coming soon and looks to be quite the story. Set in the American Southwest, which starts as a hostage story, soon becomes so much more. This game tells a multi-generational story, about how people change as they get older and looks like a wild ride.
State of Decay 3 is also in the works and will bring evolution to the zombie hunting series. It is joined by Fatshark’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which is a four-player co-op game set in Hive Tertium. Battle with friends to save Tertium and be heroes.
Grounded, which is a game similar in nature to Honey I Shrunk the Kids, is also on the way. Battle through the back yard, facing insects and trying to survive as players, are the size of bugs. It’s rather cute yet also a little scary as players must survive so they can figure out how to return to their original size.
We are also getting Watch Dogs Legion, the hit sequel to both Watchdogs and Watch Dogs 2. Set in Future London, where cyber sabotage is the name of the game. Players are sure to have a blast as any of the playable characters, as they hack their way to saving London.
Hello, Neighbor is getting a sequel and looks spookier than ever. Players are going to be hunted by a mysterious creature that will learn how they think and become nearly unstoppable. Help them find Mr. Peterson or the neighbor and take down the evil beastie.
Echo Generation is coming from Cococucumber. This game is a turn-based adventure game where players play as a group of young teens investigating supernatural occurrences in a small town. Level them up and take down monsters to gain more skills and solve a bigger mystery.
ExoMecha is a new Free to play the first-person shooter from Twisted Red coming in 2021. Players will battle through massive gorgeous worlds in mechs or using tools and gadgets. There are multiple modes to play including a signature battle royal mode large team-based battles, and an objective-based game mode.
Plenty of games are coming to the Xbox Series X from past gen. These games are redone and include Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Ori and the Will of the Wisp, and Sea of Thieves. Other games coming, in the same way, are Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Scarlet Nexus, and Dirt 5 to name a few. Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Ascent 2, Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines 2, Second Extinction, Scorn, Madden NFL 21, Chorus, Call of the Sea, and Bright Memory Infinite will also come this way.
The games shown off during the event were pretty great. Players of the new console are sure to enjoy themselves. With smart delivery, buying these games to play now isn’t a bad idea either as they will be able to play them on the Series X. While the console war is starting again, who’s to say what else is coming.
