Another lost build has been found, as YouTuber RebelTaxi has revealed that they possess an early build of the unreleased de Blob port for Nintendo DS. The news was shared on Twitter and included a video of some gameplay. The video shows an introductory animation of various coloured blobs being turned into robotic drones, in addition to footage of a city stage.  The video also shows how the DS’s dual screen would have been implemented, with the map being placed on the top screen and players controlling the protagonist with the touch controls.

de Blob was a THQ-published game initially released for iOS and Nintendo Wii in 2008 that saw players control a blob and collect paint to transform landmarks and buildings in order to complete missions.  The DS version of the game was announced to be in development inside the THQ subsidiary Helixe, but was cancelled and the studio shut down shortly after. What is interesting is that this build seems to be faithful to the series, unlike the handheld version of the sequel which turned into a 2D Platformer

It remains unclear why this version was cancelled, but it would have been a good one.
