Super Smash Bros has seen many characters from a variety of genres, such as fighting games. We have seen Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter and Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury. But there are many others who can join as well. Here are five characters who would be perfect for the series.

Ivy Valentine

Ivy is the face of the Soul Calibur series and is a very distinctive character. Besides her role in the story, Ivy is one of the more creative fighters in the game, using a stance system in various entries when it comes to her whip sword and unique inputs. Ivy could be a great fit for Smash if they modelled her partially on the Belmonts while also giving her sword attacks. Given that she is a Bandai Namco character, and they are the ones developing the Smash Bros series, they could bring in some unique insight to make the character fit best in Smash. Even her appearance wont be as big of an issue as people think, as Ivy has alternate outfits that can be used instead to make her acceptable to the ratings boards.

Kasumi

The iconic character of Dead or Alive, Kasumi would (along with Ivy) bring some much needed female representation to the dlc. In her home series, Kasumi is  fast moving and agile character and uses a style based around speed and precision. This, combined with her projectile attacks, make her an interesting possibility in terms of gameplay. While some want Chun Li to join the series, Kasumi has more possibilities in terms of combo potential and what could be added. In addition, like Ivy above, Kasumi has alternate outfits that would make her acceptable to include in Smash when it comes to ratings boards. This isnt even to mention the great music that could be added.

Heihachi

The most well known character from Bandai Namco’s famous series, Heihachi is a character I’m surprised has not been in Smash yet aside from a mii fighter outfit. Heihachi’s unique fighting style would fit well with Smash. He is a mascot character and like Ryu and Ken, offers a fighting style that can be adapted for Smash Bros to use heavy combos or like Terry, incorporate as much of the character into the game. Heihachi could bring with him many Tekken refences and a stage based on any of the games. The issue would be that Heihachi’s voice actor died and Bandai Namco might not want to replace him for this appearance. If they could find a way though, the character would be a perfect fit.

Sol Badguy

The Guilty Gear series is one of the best faced paced fighting games ever made, and with the recent return to prominence for the franchise, a guest appearance in Smash would fit well, and Sol would be the perfect choice to add. He is the most accessible character, has excellent projectiles and can be modelled after other characters as well. He has potential to bring some amazing music to the series, and  the possibilities for his final smash are numerous.  Sol also could have some interesting special attacks based around his dragon install and the possibility of alternate modes. Transformations happen in Smash already and a limited time transformation that weakens the character would bring a unique addition

Raiden

I was wondering what fighter from Mortal Kombat would work in Smash Bros, and Raiden stuck out as the best choice. He and Sub-Zero  appeared in Injustice 2 with heavily toned down moves, but Raiden has more potential as far as I am concerned. Raiden would be a very heavy projectile based character, but also have his teleportation moves. He would also be the more appealing to the developers, for what he could do and the less graphic nature of the character. He could use his staff as well, or his flying attacks, and as with the other entries, would bring some excellent Mortal Kombat music. His final smash would be the easiest thing to do, and could be a modified version of his special move from Injustice 2.
