There have been many Warhammer 40 000 games over the years, and while some fell into a rut and fell back constantly on Turn-Based Strategy gaming rather than trying something new, there are still some games that are experimenting. One of these games, coming in 2022, is Warhammer 40, 000: Shootas, Blood & Teef, a run n’ gun game starring the Orks. The game is being made by the developers of Funs Gore and Cannoli and acts as a spiritual sequel to those games.

Warhammer 40, 000: Shootas, Blood & Teef sees an Ork invasion of a hive world to recover a hair squig and take revenge on the warlord. Players will be going up against the imperial guard, Genestealers and Space Marines. One thing that stands out about Warhammer 40, 000: Shootas, Blood & Teef is that the Space Marines featured in this game are the White Scars who do have a long history with the Orks in the lore and appear to be accurately represented down to their dislike of dreadnoughts but are rarely depicted in other media.

Warhammer 40, 000: Shootas, Blood & Teef will be full of intense run n’ gun mayhem and will have multiplayer options as well. Players can work together, or in true Ork fashion, take out each other to see who the top Ork is. The visual style also looks amazing, taking the best of the comic book art from Guns Gore and Cannoli and adapting it well to 40K, to create something special.

Warhammer 40, 000: Shootas, Blood & Teef is only the second game to follow the Orks, after Dakka Squadron, and gives some much-needed attention to the faction outside of the role of enemies to fight. A 40K run n’ gun was something we actually suggested in a previous article (though we suggested the Catachan as protagonists) and it’s good to see this style of a game be used.  Warhammer 40K has a rich lore and seeing more of it used outside of tactical games is something we can all enjoy. Of course, there is still room for Tactical Strategy Games, but sometimes something different is needed.

Warhammer 40, 000: Shootas, Blood & Teef will release on PlayStation, PC, XBOX and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2022.
