Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed something interesting in a segment of 4Gamer’s end-of-year game creator comment compilation. Specifically, he revealed that Yasumi Matsuno is writing a scenario, but did not reveal what kind of title the story will be for.

Question: Who is the person you have observed (or been observing) the most in 2021?
Answer: Yasumi Matsuno. Apparently he is currently writing a scenario, but I am looking forward to seeing what kind of title it will be like.
Sakaguchi was the one who tasked Matsuno with creating a Final Fantasy Strategy game that become Final Fantasy Tactics, and it was Sakaguchi who recommended him to head the Final Fantasi XII development team before Matsuno left due to health reasons. The two have worked together since then, such as when Matsuno wrote the scenario for “The Death of Shay and Arionne” in Mistwalker’s Terra Battle. Matsuno later established his own company named Algebra Factory in 2016, and received new work from Square Enix to write the scenarios for “Return to Ivalice” in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood and “Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr” in the following Shadowbringers expansion.
It will be very interesting to see what comes of this.
