Homebrew creator Jweii, known for demakes of Castlevania games on Atari 2600 and NES has now released a new Atari 2600 style remake of Contra.
This demake is a demo that covers only the first level, but can be downloaded and played here for windows and here for Android. The Android version requires a controller to use while the Windows version has the following controls:
Keyboard Controls: A to MOVE LEFT. D to MOVE RIGHT. S to CROUCH. J to ATTACK. K to JUMP. ENTER to START. F5 to RESTART. Joy Controls: DPAD LEFT/LEFT STICK LEFT to MOVE LEFT. DPAD RIGHT/LEFT STICK RIGHT to MOVE RIGHT. DPAD DOWN/LEFT STICK DOWN to CROUCH. CROSS/A to ATTACK. CIRCLE/B to JUMP. START to START. SELECT to RESTART.
The demake was made in eight hours over the course of two days.
