Mutant Mudds might look simple but it’s a game that doesn’t play around. The game tells the story of a young boy who finds himself faced with a muddy force. Mutant Mudds is a rather charming game and one that most anyone would enjoy. The Mutant Mudds Collection features 3 different games that are sure to excite any fan of the series!
Mutant Mudds Deluxe is quite the adventure game and has multiple levels to explore. With his trusty water gun, Max is going to wipe out the muddy baddies. He will need the proper guidance of the player to win. This little guy has the extraordinary power of dimension manipulation. He can jump between the foreground and background in a blink of an eye. This is the only way for him to fully explore levels, and it is quite an interesting mechanic.
The game also has a classic hub world that is reminiscent of Kirby. The player jumps up and down to go into doorways and start the next level. This is a nice feature as it lets the player know which levels they completed. It’s nice to have everything laid out for the player and Mutant Mudds does that well.
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is a harder version of the game. This game will test the player and make sure that they are going about things as precisely as possible. While the first game might still be a true platformer, this game certainly takes it up a notch. The puzzles themselves are more intricate and this game should be attempted only by someone who has played the first game.
If the player wants to take a break from the platforming adventure they can settle into Mudd Blocks! This game is a classic puzzle adventure that will have players stacking to destroy the evil muddy foes. Play in solo mode to rack up points and best yourself or work with a friend in co-op. There are other modes for even more fun! These modes are endless, rescue, 3 minutes, and numbers.They’re all very different and all worth trying out. There is even versus and co-op which adds hours of fun, and that is always appreciated.
The last cool thing about this game is the leaderboards. This game is one that really wants the player to improve. Every game has comprehensive leaderboards that update regularly. It’s interesting playing this game and seeing scores. The player who loves competition will certainly enjoy testing their mettle on the leaderboards!
Mutant Mudds Collection is an amazing addition to any Nintendo Switch Collection. If the player has never played the original it is certainly worth getting. This series may seem silly, but it is a precise platformer that will test the player.
