The Raven Remastered is a fantastic mystery game set in 1964 in London. This game is packed to the gills with classic murder mystery locales and great voiced characters. Truly a game for fans of the genre and one that players can play out through multiple times with different characters making it a fun time for all.

The Raven Remastered is a lovingly crafted remake The Raven: Legacy of the Master Thief. The game itself is broken up into three chapters, each which helps tell a bigger story. The three chapters in this book take place in three magnificent locales, a train in the Swiss Alps, a Cruise Ship, and the Cairo Museum.

Each of the locales is well designed and looks just like the player would imagine they would. Each chapter is so different yet they all work to make the world shine. It’s great to play a game set in another country, to see what the world was like there.

The game is a point and click adventure, where players will need to use their wiles to figure out puzzles. Using what the player has in their inventory is also important. A brief tutorial, in the beginning, is provided and that will set anyone off on the right path. This game is rather simple in nature but the mystery within should be worth the wait.

Players can inspect much of what they see around them. The detective will talk about what he is inspecting with intelligence and aplomb. Checking things out will give the player more to work with, and deepen their involvement in the world. The characters also have a lot to talk about so it’s good to listen to everything every character has to say.

The player needs to choose the correct responses to continue the story. Choosing wrong can make people think less of the detective but it doesn’t necessarily stop his progress. The responses add a little more character to the game itself. The game is voiced so it plays rather like a movie after players choose their response.

Players will also need to be stealthy as there are stealth portions in the game. The detective might not look like it but he is a rather agile individual. He’s quick and able to maneuver rather well for a man of his age too, mind you.

The characters in the game are well written and deep. There is a sense that so many of them could be the culprit, but that the player might not be able to figure it out so easily. It’s easy to judge everyone as suspicious, as the detective is a suspicious and thoughtful man.

The musical score is charming and adds energy to the game and its cutscenes. Good music can truly make a good game a great game and this game is no exception. They wanted the game to feel a certain way and hearing the music makes it possible for the player to feel that. The areas that the game is dark and mysterious are also great because the music accompanies it well.

While the game might be well written, it’s not necessarily always the most exciting. At points I felt like things dragged on a little longer then they should have. While it is voice acted, it is often just a little too dry in how it tells its story.

The game is also just a little janky at times. The player will often have short moments to choose actions for the hero. He moves rather robotically and not in the quickest manner so positioning him can be a little annoying.

The Raven Remastered is a game that has an amazing voice cast and stellar story. This game has been fixed up since its earlier release and plays far better than it did previously. The Raven is back and this eager old detective will need some help, is the player up to the challenge?
